Dusty's sermon this weekend was about looking at the Lord's relationship with believers and then applying that to our relationships amongst each other. Having strong Christian friendships will make our Christian walk so much easier. Sometimes, not doing something because it is a sin is not enough. Many times in my life I knew what I was going to do would be a sin, yet that thought did not stop me from sinning. Having strong Christian friends could be the accountability needed to stop a certain sin. We cannot handle sin on our own. The typical "church" answer for braking free of sin is to get closer to God and let Him change your life. But that is easier said then done. We want to obey the Lord but our earthly desires are too strong. All you might need is strong Christian friends or a Christian mentor to build into you and work through the sin with you. We are called to "share each other's troubles and problems," (Galatians 6:2a) so we should always be willing to help fellow brother through their sin; we might need the favor returned someday.
